The town of Pazin is located in the center of the Istrian peninsula, on a plateau surrounded by surrounding hills forming a valley. The old part of the town is located above the steep cliffs below which is the abyss of the river Pazinฤica, thus forming a geological phenomenon known as Pazin Cave.
